Des solutions pour sauver les villes de la montée des eaux



Début avril, le graphiste slovaque Martin Vargic présentait sa carte de la montée des eaux, pour sensibiliser les populations en montrant quelles seraient les conséquences d’une élévation du niveau des mers 80 centimètres.

Combiné à l’érosion, ce phénomène pourrait plonger en partie ou totalement plusieurs grandes capitales dans l’eau comme Paris, Bruxelles, Londres ou Berlin.

Pour résoudre cette éventuelle future problématique, des ingénieurs ont mis au point plusieurs projets révolutionnaires dont voici un aperçu :

– SubBiosphere : Monté sur une sorte de structure verticale, cet habitat flottant peut s’immerger à plusieurs mètres de profondeur en cas de forte houle. Ce « bâtiment » transparent auto-suffisant est composé d’un globe central qui surveille les systèmes de soutien de la vie tandis que les humains, les plantes et les animaux vivraient autour des huit sphères environnantes. Plus d’informations sur ce projet.

– Les « Royal Docks » qui pourraient voir le jour prochainement sur la Tamise à Londres. Ce complexe immobilier s’étalera sur 6 hectares pour abriter logements, hôtels, boutiques et autres lieux de divertissement. S’il voyait le jour, les royal docks deviendraient le plus vaste complexe immobilier flottant du Royaume-Uni. Plus d’informations sur ce projet.

– Sur le même concept mais à plus grande échelle que le SubBiosphere, Patri Friedman travaille sur le «Seasteading» un projet de villes flottantes composées de plusieurs modules amarrés entre-eux. Ces villes pourraient en cas de cataclysmes, développer leur propre gouvernance et auto-suffisance. Plus d’informations sur ce projet.

– « Makoko Floating School » est une école flottante construite à Makoko au Nigéria. Située dans un bidonville où les habitations bâties sur pilotis prennent régulièrement l’eau, cette école est peut-être la solution architecturale pour créer plusieurs villages qui ne subiraient plus la montée des eaux. Plus d’informations sur ce projet.
