Representing in Bucharest, the heavy metal band Metallica has decided to help the sick.
Thursday, August 15, following their concert in the Romanian capital, the group donated 250,000 euros to an association, in order to facilitate the construction of the first oncology hospital for children. A heavy gesture of meaning and importance. Indeed, Romania is one of the countries with the highest infant mortality rate in Europe.
A gesture hailed and appreciated: "Our goal is to bring a little joy to the sick children, just as Metallica makes happy its fans around the world (...) It is a gift of which we had not even dared dream, "says Carmen Uscat, co-founder of Daruiste Viata.
James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich, founding members of the group, are not at their first attempt. In 2018, they already donated the 100,000 euros obtained thanks to the Polar Prize Music prize, to charities.
The tour of Metallica, planned until 2020 reserve for sure, many surprises.
